OSPF Multi-Area di Cisco: Convergence dari 30 Detik ke 8

50 router single-area, convergence lambat. Multi-area: backbone + stub area, jadi cepat.

Network sekitar 50 router. Single-area OSPF (area 0 saja) sudah lambat — convergence 30+ detik saat link flap.

Solusi: multi-area design. Backbone area 0, branch areas 1-9.

Topologi:

  • Area 0: pusat (Jakarta)
  • Area 1: Bandung
  • Area 2: Surabaya
  • Area 3: Medan
  • ABR (Area Border Router) menghubungkan area ke 0

Cisco IOS:

 area 1 stub
 network 10.0.0.0 0.0.0.255 area 0
 network 10.1.0.0 0.0.255.255 area 1

Stub area di branch — kurangi LSA flooding. Branch tidak perlu tahu detail backbone, cukup default route.

Convergence turun jadi 5-8 detik. CPU OSPF process turun signifikan.

LSA debug: debug ip ospf events. Pelan-pelan saat troubleshooting — banyak output, gampang membanjir.
